It was a medical malpractice case.
A failure to diagnose cancer case.
My client's sister was present for some of the doctor visits.

The defense lawyers wanted to question the sister to find out what she overheard the doctors say. They also wanted to know what she said to any of the doctors.

Toward the end of the question and answer session, one of the defense lawyers asked the sister a question that was totally outrageous. We call that a palpably improper question...a question that has no bearing on who is responsible or what the defenses are in the case.

What was the question?
"Can your sister get a pedicure and manicure?"
I said "WHAT?? THAT'S WHY YOU BROUGHT THIS WOMAN OUT HERE TO ASK HER THAT QUESTION?? You must be kidding me! That question has nothing whatsoever to do with the claims of malpractice we're making and nothing to do with any of the defenses you're claiming. I direct her NOT to answer that question."
