Common extensor tendon tear or elbow

Common extensor tendon tear or elbow Pain in the elbow is commonly from inflammation and microtearing of the common extensor tendon origin from the lateral epicondyle. When mild, it is termed lateral epicondylitis and it can be treated conservatively or with dry needling. With progression, a macroscopic tear can occur with tendon retraction. Based on the size of the tear, surgery may be warranted.
