Because of this Corona Virus scare we have heard multiple reports of stores running out of hand sanitizer. We use this stuff a lot because we have a toddler and a newborn. This stuff really saves us. So today I wanted to show you how you can make hand sanitizer at home with stuff you probably have already.
To start you need a couple of small bottles. They can either be a pump style or a pop top that opens and closes. Then you need 91% or stronger isopropyl alcohol and some aloe vera gel. All of these together cost me about 8$ in total and will make a good amount. It is definitely not as cheap as normal hand sanitizer, but it will get the job done if you need it to. Then just pour alcohol into the bottle until it is about 1/3 of the way full. Then pump in enough aloe vera gel to fill it to about 2/3 of the way. Then what I do is put about 5 drops of essential oil in. I used lavender oil because I like the scent, but you can use any. Then, just fill the bottle the rest of the way up with the alcohol. Just leave a tiny bit of airspace at the top. Close up the Bottle, and then shake. You will see the air that was left in the container actually helps mix up the solution.
It is a little more runny than normal hand sanitizer, but it works great and smells great. Let me know how yours turned out and if you have any suggestions!
