How can children come home for lunch and find no food, go out looking for sweet potatoes, wash them, look for firewood, put up the fire, cook the potatoes, eat before going back to school in an hour's lunch time schedule? As I've said before, these children are worse off than orphaned children. The kind of life they live would be more justified if their parents were dead and buried. Unfortunately, their dad and mom are still alive but they choose not to help their own children. It pains so much seeing this kind of neglect and child abuse. So sad indeed, with a father and mother who are the most irresponsible people I have ever met in my entire life. It's hard not to judge them, especially Centrine, for abandoning her children to hurt with jiggers, hunger and all manner of atrocities that pursue children who are vulnerable. The children's security is compromised. These are some of the saddest children we've met, and how could one blame them for being so bitter? If RUS had a way, these are the children that needed to be taken away in a flash. Unfortunately in Kenya It is not easy to take children away from their families. Therefore as much as we would provide a better life for them, we're bound by the law and have to work with those lousy parents in making sure their children are assisted. The children's department is a white elephant project - they do absolutely NOTHING to help such children. So sad indeed. SOBS.
