Why coding isn't enough.

Just like how the ability to read & write are no longer remarkable skills today, the ability to code is also no longer enough to be a remarkable software engineer.

The role of "software engineer" is changing, though it has always been to solve problems using technology. 10 years ago, we had no idea what an "app" even was or how to accept payments online. Nowadays, we've got tutorials galore, fancy text editors with auto-completion, and Stripe & PayPal have paved the way so anyone can setup e-commerce in one-click. Most hand-written algorithms of the past are being replaced with Machine Learning. So... where does that leave Software Engineers and how has the role changed?
