For a brief moment Jesus reveals his glory to some of his apostles. We call it the Transfiguration. They see Jesus as he is -- "God from God, Light from Light" -- or at least as much of Jesus as sinners can handle. This look at Jesus, this display of glory, Jesus uses to grab our eyes, ears, and hearts. He grabs us so that we'll listen to him. We'll listen to the suffering and crucified one who is also the resurrected one. We'll listen to our God and not all the other voices out there competing for our attention. #Transfiguration #Epiphany #Mark9 Sermon preached at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church (Sioux Falls, SD) by Pr. Benjamin Tomczak.
