See how CPU can be set to display fake specification and how see the original if fake is set up. This means, if you have i5, 8th Gen. CPU, you can easily set to display higher version like i-7 or i-9. I am just showing you this because fake people may display you the fake CPU version and take advantage of it by selling their product on higher price. This video intends to show you how fake people can misguide you or show you fake CPU configuration. I will also show you how to see the original configuration of the CPU in a computer or laptop even if it’s set to fake.
To show you the original CPU installed in my Laptop, right click on This PC, click on properties. Here, as we can see, the CPU is i-7, 9th Generation and the speed of CPU is 2.60Giga Hertz. You can also check with dxdiag. Press windows + R, type dxdiag and hit enter. Here, you can see the actual CPU version, generation and the speed.
Now I’m gonna show you it can be changed as per your choice. Press Windows + R then type regedit, and hit enter. Click on ‘Yes’. Type backslash after HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and type SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management. Double click on SecondLevelDataCache and set the value as 0 and click on OK.
Now you will be able to change the fake CPU configuration. For this, remove everything after HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and type HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor, Click on zero folder, Double click on ProcessorNameString. Here you can change anything, the version of CPU, generation and speed. For example, I’m gonna change from i-7 to i-9, and click on OK. It’s done. Close the window and check back the CPU configuration.
Right click on This PC, Click on Properties, here as you can see, it’s set to i-9. Oh My God, What the heck is this?
You may be shown fake hardware configuration like this, so before buying a second hand laptop or a computer with unknown people, you should always be aware of this and check for original.
So, how to check or find the original configuration of any hardware? Just watch till the end, I’m gonna show you this.
It’s a very simple solution ! Find CPU-Z application. This is a third-party software, so it doesn’t come already installed on your laptop or PC, so you need to download and install it. In my PC, I have already downloaded and installed. Just click on to run the application.
Here, move your eyes through the CPU specification, it’s not changed to fake. It’s the manufacturer original configuration.
