Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias discuss new tour, say their kids harshest critics

Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias are hitting the road together for their first time.

Their co-headlining North America tour kicks off in September – and their children will be giving feedback throughout.

At a press conference in Los Angeles Wednesday (5 MARCH 2020), Martin said that his kids are "super crazy critics" and have no problem speaking their minds.

"My twins, they're like, 'Dad. Your show tonight, 'uh, uh (shakes head), last night was better.'"

Martin and his husband Jwan Yosef have four children, including Renn Martin-Yosef who was born in 2019 and twins Matteo and Valentino.

"I guess we get a lot of inspiration from our kids," he said.

As busy parents, Martin and Iglesias are aware of the pressures of juggling a live tour with home life.

"It's tough last night leaving my house and you see your kids and they're hugging you," said Iglesias. "I wish I could take them with me. You can't take them everywhere. But the good thing of touring in the U.S. and Ricky and I were talking about this, is that the cities are way closer. So, I think you can go to a city, play, and then go back home that same night."

The pair also said they're recording new material in the studio.

"I'm working on some new music at the moment," said Iglesias. "I'm actually going to put out an album this year. I feel so good about it."

Martin, meanwhile, has just released a new single, "Tiburones" ("Sharks"), and hopes to release more music "in two months as well."

The North American tour kicks off 5 September in Phoenix and will make stops in Houston, Los Angeles, Toronto, New York, Miami, and others. It ends 30 October in Atlanta. Tickets go on sale via LiveNation.com on 12 March.

Newcomer Sebastian Yatra will perform in support.
